If a chart here says a lake is 89 metres deep, that came from a survey. Printed to order on 200gsm matte paper at a production partner near you.
Why it looks like that
Not "inspired by" a survey - taken from one. State geological services, national mapping agencies, published ephemerides, OpenStreetMap. The authority is set on the face of the print.
Geometry goes in and a print comes out through a renderer that has no imagination. Nothing is smoothed to look better, and no shape is invented to fill a gap in the data.
When the data will not verify, the print does not get made. Three race circuits and an entire state's worth of lakes are held back right now for exactly that reason.

Every day of 2027 as a moon glyph, in twelve month blocks. Full moon names, supermoons and lunar eclipses marked; all instants in UTC.
Phase instants are computed rather than copied: exact times of every new, first-quarter, full and last-quarter moon, per-day illumination evaluated at 12:00 UTC, and a supermoon flag where the Earth-Moon distance at the full-moon instant falls under 360,000 km. Every full-moon and eclipse date was checked against the USNO and NASA tables before the file was allowed to render.

Provenance
A print that cannot prove where it came from is just a picture of a lake. The working rule
Apex Lines binds every circuit to an exact OpenStreetMap relation ID and a Wikidata QID before it renders. Monaco's current relation will not assemble into a closed main-course ring.
There is cached geometry from an earlier snapshot that would have drawn a perfectly convincing Monaco. The renderer is built so it cannot reach for it. Monaco is refused, and the three-circuit sets that would have included it stay held.
